Sleep frustrates me. I mean, I honestly get a little annoyed that I need it in order for my body to function properly. The average amount of sleep someone needs is 6-8 hours. For the sake of things let's say 7. 7 hours every 24 hours. 49 every week. 2555 a year. 53655 by the time you're 21. That's 2235.6 days or 6 out of 21 years of your life(not counting leap years here) that you're asleep and that's not even including the excess slumber of your baby years. Think of all you can do in 6 years and you spent it asleep.

Don't get me wrong, I love dreaming. I love that comforting stillness of the mind. I love the restoration. Yet, I hate that I struggle to wake once I've drifted off. I hate when I have a list of things to do and all my eyelids can do is droop. I hate the things I miss out on when asleep that I have to catch up on later. I hate that after a certain amount of time awake I become a danger to myself, and sometimes those around me, in loosing the ability to make proper choices(can't stay awake? don't drive. that railing you normally jump over instead of walking the rest of the way down the steps? no longer a good idea. that x-acto knife? sharp.).

I once stayed awake for 5 days straight. I got a lot done but I also saw a fair amount of things that weren't really there. I have a tricky relationship with sleep.

Srsly, I aspire to be even half as chill and awesome as he is when he paints. It's magical. I mean most of the time he's painting he isn't even using a brush, it's nuts. Blink and suddenly he's add a cluster of trees with a fucking sponge. Maybe part of my hyped up feelings on this are coming from the fact that the chat at the moment is mostly /ic/(and a few others) singing praises of him but the man is seriously fantastic. *watches* Holy shit! He just took a giant brush smothered in dark paint and made a huge tree in the middle of everything. Oh gods, highlights.

I almost regret that I have to stop watching at some point.

ETA: Nooooooo! I close the screen while out to dinner, come back and now the channel is so overloaded I can't watch anymore. *tear* Haha! It's back!

Just found an old VHS tape in my stuff with about two hours worth of Power Ranger episodes from the first season. It was probably my 'favorite show ever' when we lived in Gitmo. *watches* So awesome. I still don't understand why the people of the city didn't kick the Power Rangers out with how often things got destroyed. I mean Rita only sent her monsters there because of them. Speaking of which, much love for Rita. Her and the pink ranger were my favorites. In fact I think my liking of the pink ranger might have been why I started gymnastics, lol. Impressionable four/five year old me was very much impressionable.

The past week has been miserable. All of last weekend was spent on my going nuts and needing to rearrange/clean everything. Once the weekend was up I then spent the week going from sickness/pain to sickness/pain. Everything seems to have had it's turn. Ovaries, head, stomache, heels, knuckles, neck, eyes, and back. Many times things ached so much I got sick. Ugh...

Hopefully that's over with and this weekend will prove productive. In the meantime, have a picspam of my room.

Been on a Pandemic 2 semi-'playing spree' as of late(not too hard since I tend to just keep the screen open while doing other things and come back from time to time to spend a few DNA points and check up on things). Finally beat it twice in a row. Finding it amusing how the high scores list always seems to have at least two mentions of swine flu anymore.

Damn it. The weather, at least I think it's the weather, I'll blame the weather, is driving me nuts. These past two days I've just been completely restless and on edge. I'm awake during the day though the humidity is already getting to the point you can't do much more than lie around and beg for the air conditioner to work. I'm awake during the night, trying to make up for the pointless day, though ultimately end up going a bit stir crazy and unable to stand being inside. I draw a little, I write a little, I read a lot. My brain flicks between joyous and miserable like a switch controlled by a child who just discovered the strobe light effect.

Ugh... I think I'll go for a drive and then clean. Cleaning helps. Haven't eaten today though not sure it'd be a good idea. Food gives me a real energy boost, not something I need right now. Sleep would be awesome though the thought of it makes my mind freak out further. Hope I crash soon.

From the past week's work there's going to be about 30-50 total uploaded throughout today. Some good, some bad, some outright offensive. I can't wait to see the response and just how creative everyone who's been working on it will get with the titles/descriptions/ways of telling her. Not sure it's the best approach, but watching this grow has been greatly entertaining.

On a friendlier note, when working digitally ALWAYS save another copy of your work somewhere else in case the original file gets corrupted. Of course this is only if you don't like opening the file you spent some good amount of time on to find something like this. Yeah... do not want.

Holy fuck, Animorphs. It was the first series that I really, actively collected in books. I remember the first one I ever read was the one with Jake turning into a fly on the cover, it was a yellow cover. There I was minding my own damn bussiness and next thing I know I see this title and my elementary school self goes 'oh, that's awesome' and before I knew what hit me I was hooked. If I wanted to talk fandom I'd say that Gargoyles was probably my first ever and Animorphs was my second. I was into other things too, of course, but those were the ones I really got into.

So yeah, I was hooked. This was when we lived in CT and before the bulk of the series was out yet so I pretty much actively collected each book as it came out for quite sometime(I think they came out every other month or something like that). I remember being on a family vacation in Nebraska(grandfather lived there) and dragging my mother around the tiny town in search of the newest book. I remember being the only kid in my class in CT who could name all the characters winning me a small prize in library trivia. I remember this kid when I moved to VA who I was competive with in who would get the new book first, I always thought he kind of looked like Jake. I remember slightly slashing Rachel/Cassie and Marco/Jake before I really knew wtf slash was. I remember being excited about the TV series and then being sad that it lacked the epicness it could have been.

Alas the author got a bit lazy toward the end and I stopped when the reading got really unbearable(right after they met the girl andalite), you could tell Applegate didn't seem to care about the series anymore. It's okay though as I hear the ending sucked and Rachel died, so fuck that...
