Been on a cooking kick lately. I want to tackle my 'go raw for at least a week each year'(though I'm thinking two weeks to a month for this go) goal so I feel the need to get rid of, i.e. consume, anything that would need to be cooked. While tofu lasts a good amount of time, I'm not really sure about it so I'm trying to get all of it out of the way(which is good as I haven't made anything with it in a long while). Today I've had tofu scramble for breakfast, tofu in my curry for lunch, and I'm planning on making some tofu croquettes later tonight. It's great because so long as you cook it differently it never really tastes the same so you don't get sick of it.
On that note, I love cooking for myself. When I cook for others to also eat I feel the need to follow a recipe so it won't taste too weird though for myself I know I'll probably eat it no matter what(ever since I went veg I've stopped being picky about food, if it's vegan and won't kill me I'll probably eat it... except prunes. Ena loves prunes so I tried a bunch the other day and have since declared them my mortal food enemy. Oh and black olives too. They always trick me with their oddly sweet smell though nowhere near sweet taste.) and go crazy. I think I'm going to make okonomiyaki tomorrow. My kitchen will explode because I always get carried away and feel the need to add a bit of everything to it(at this point I'm thinking lettuce, daikon, carrots, tofu, fake bacon bits, onion, cabbage, a tiny bit of broccoli, celery, green beans, peppers, mushrooms, kale, tomatoe, and maybe some rice... mostly stuff that's fine raw but whatever). My okonomiyaki is beastly. Nom.
*ponders* Though maybe I should put it off until Sunday since I'm supposed to be joining Miss Clima, Kimchi, Mr. Settel, and a few others for lunch tomorrow.
