* I'm still kinda reeling from the election results. Was so stressed and then... bam! So many good things and Romney lost! and yay!

* Picked up my packet. Feels more real, I'm running my first marathon Sunday! Scared and excited, but more excited than scared, so I think I can do this!

* Last Thursday I learned my limit on how much bigger a person can be than me before I can't pick up/fireman carry them(well, pick them up AND do anything more than stand there, trying not to fall). Failed buddy squats, lol.

* Just watched Prometheus with [livejournal.com profile] ontdcreepy, it was soooo bad. Idek.

First the Marvel Kink Meme and now a DC one? Can one OD on porn? Honestly though, I'm loving this. Not just because I'm a (mostly) shameless pervert mind you, because I am, but I've been needing to work my writing muscles a bit and what better way than filling requests? Rhetorical question, please don't answer.

On an unrelated note, I watched Ponyo(Miyazaki's latest) and Cat Returns the other night. Ponyo, imo, didn't quite live up to the normal quality of his films though it's soooooo incredibly cute. It's the story of this little goldfish girl who wants to become human. Her father doesn't want her to, though her mother is pretty awesome, and it becomes up to Sosuke to help her out. It should be out in English in August, though I can't imagine the Disney brand voices beating the original. As for Cat Returns? It's just pure win, unless you're a cat-hater, i.e. have no soul.

The DVD containing both comes out on the 24th though I sat down and watched it yesterday.
A little spoilery under cut )

((pic somewhat unrelated though amusing))

If you were a fan of the comic, don't let any rumors deter you from seeing this(if you already haven't). Yes, some things were changed. Though it was still a rather fucking awesomely fantastic movie!!!!!11... *reins in fangirling* retaining a lot of the feel of the original work. So GO! See it! NOW!

If you've never read the comic... I'm not sure. Some people left the theater saying it was boring and they didn't understand it(srsly?) though I went with someone who'd never read it and she rather liked it. She was a bit freaked at the blue penis though... Ahem. So, if you can stand a bit of excess violence and a few scenes pushing the line of porn then I certainly recommend it.

Now I'm off to go watch the saturday morning cartoon thing about 50x with hopes of forcing the song out of my head via overdosing it.

It was pretty good, I suppose, though I'm still not sure that Kerri Russell was the best choice to voice Diana. Her voice makes Diana seem young, which is appropriate for the movie/timeframe, though feels lacking.

That said, let's get to the review...
Spoilers and screencaps under cut )
To sum it up it's an entertaining movie which I will be forcing others I know to watch. Some of it could have used a good deal of improvement though it wasn't an overly facepalm inducing thing.

It was marvelous. The stop-motion animation was gorgeous to a point that you often forgot they weren't CGI but actual dolls/puppets that's every movement was carefully orchestrated to make it appear seamless and real. If you haven't seen it yet, I certainly recommend it. That said..

Over the past few days on +/a/ there's been a thread featuring downloads to http://avidzktjo.deviantart.com/'s 'Evidence of Zutara' video and screencaps from the videos. Once you get over the fan rage it's nothing short of epic-level lulz. I mean this girl is so offended that Aang and Katara got together that she burned her DVDs(mind you that the whole set is $120 at the very least) and renounced wanting anything to do with the fandom anymore. She even insults the creators, mind you who without there wouldn't even be a Katara or Zuko for her to gush over, and claims they were leading on Zutarians just to make fun of them. L-O-FUCKING-L. Granted, the creators did make fun of Zutarians a few times but grow the fuck up, I mean really....

That said here's another Moezula comic...
Poor Zu-zu... )
Oh and in case you care nothing for all this Avatar stuff I've been posting lately, the trailer for the Dragonball movie is up: http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/10/03/full-dragonball-teaser-trailer-hits-as-well/ It's so horribly bad that I was laughing for quite sometime.

6 hr. and 15 minutes to go!!!!!
Not sure if it's the caffine, wearing my Harley shirt(which always makes me act hyper), or just months of excitement reaching towards critical mass... but I can't sit still. The movie is going to be epic.

*is off to watch episodes of B:TAS and do face painting*

No one thought they'd do it. It was all about selling tickets so why would they ever do it. Yet... they did. They not only gave away free tickets to IMAX showings of TDK but free tickets to IMAX showings scheduled 3 days before the release date. Alas, I live no closer than 8 hr from the nearest one. *le sigh*

((oh, and fyi: they're 'sold out' by this point))

To top off the bad luck category there was also a viral call today, apparently you hear the bank heist and the Joker laugh, and I missed it on account of having my teeth drilled. Oi vey. Oh well, I'll still be seeing it at midnight on the 18th. *goes off to pick out outfit to go with the face paint*

While the thought of it happening excites me to no end, Keri Russell's voice isn't cutting it to me. Maybe it'll change when it actually comes out, though from just watching the little preview/insider thing on the Gotham Knight DVD I can't say I'm as thrilled as I was by the inital mention of it.
It probably doesn't help that her voice reminds me of the magical girl from the Unicorns vs. Narwhals animation.

It was kind of lame...

...though in the immortal words of BriDog72, "Whatever happens, I love you guys." lmao.

10 DAYS UNTIL
THE DARK KNIGHT!!!!1111
Oh and the Gotham Knight DVD is coming out today along with today being the day of the Citizens for Batman event at 10PM in Chicago & NY: http://citizensforbatman.org/
In other viral/TDK news there's another countdown going on with the Joker side of things:
http://www.whysoserious.com/overture/
That time however is set to go off at 10PM on the 10th. Alas I have work that day. *sigh*

http://www.whysoserious.com/

The site's updated with a checklist including all the events thus far.
To the side of the list is another list with all the websites found in the viral and all around the check list are clickable items that lead to Gotham City Police reports about each of the events.
With only three items left on the checklist and 18 days left until the movie comes out I have a feeling things are really going to speed up now.
*can't wait*
