Meh

([personal profile] gargoylekitty Oct. 23rd, 2008 03:42 am)

It's been building for a bit now, and winter is probably the worse time to start on this, but I seriously need to start exercising more. It's not that I need to loose weight or anything, goddess forbid seeing more ribs, but more that I'm just feeling out of shape. I no longer have the 30 hours a week on skates, my huge-arse portfolio and bag keep me from using the stairs as much as I'd like at school, and I honestly don't get out and move as much as I could. I feel weak and pathetic. This isn't to say I was ever really a raw strength type person, despite the idea appealing to me, but I... I don't know really. I feel more combersom, lazy, and clutzy than I know I am. Maybe it's all these gymnast/contortionists I've been doodling lately...

I actually am more likely to exercise in the winter as I hate trying to in the heat.

For getting rid of the clutzy feeling you might try yoga or pilates since they train strength, balance and flexibility. I also liked belly dancing for toning

I was actually thinking of doing yoga a bit back, since my mother suggested it as something for us to actually see one another from time to time though she backed out on me. Maybe I'll look into that again. Belly dancing definately sounds like fun too.

I was also thinking of working on my fencing more since that always makes me feel a bit more nimble and fierce.

Belly Dancing is lots of fun and it really, really works your stomach and butt.

I used to have a bunch of yoga tapes that I loved. I was sad because I never learned the one where you're basically upside down, holding yourself up with your hands.
