Yes, I'm aware this came out nearly a week or so ago(I don't even know at this point) but sometimes things just get away from you. That said....
It was pretty good. Full of reminders/knods to things you already know with a sprinkling of new information on the side. As an added bonus the art's even taken a step towards a more complete look.
First of all there was a bit more of the scene from the preview reel, which of course ruled. Right before Yama's rescued it cuts to how he joined the group. We learn that after what we'd seen last of the Ishimura clan he'd be named his own judge to decide his fate for his crimes(i.e. selling out the clan, trying to take it over, ect). He chose banishment, setting off on his own to lament over his shame. It's during one of these 'flashback/emo' moments that he runs into Dingo, Robin, and Matrix. By 'run into' I mean they attackedhim in an attempt at forcing him to hear them out.
Unfortunately things don't go so smoothly as planned and after a rough stand-off, some amusing quarreling between Robin and Yama, and he eventually comes up with a new 'punishment'. Or rather he 'decides', at gunpoint, that by joining the team he might attone for his past mistakes.
From there we learn that their next stop(well... third stop) will be in New York, much to Dingo's protest. From there it cuts to New York, more specifically the Labrinyth. A shabby homeless looking man makes his way through the underground areas. Loved the little wave to the main Gargoyles storyline with Shari leaning against a wall he passes. Eventually he ends up in the room where they're holding Fang. He pulls out a *can't think of word for it* and shocks the guard on duty. Fang is confused though interested... until the homeless man reveals his true idenity as Dr. Sevarius. Damn, I both love and hate these last page cliffhangers that seem to be going so well with these comics so far. Oh and we also learn Fang's real name is Fred Sykes. It amused me as I know someone whose family name is Sykes(though we'd just call him by that).
Overal verdict: Can't wait for more! ^.^
