I swear I'll be more timely on the 31st review(as in it will be up that day or Thursday), I've just been busy lately so here we go. A rather heavy week, haven't gotten near finished, I got Action Comics #857, The Walking Dead #43, Gotham Underground #1, Countdown 27, Velocity, The Umbrella Academy #2, JLA Classified #45, Green Arrow #6, Fables #2, Uncle Sam & The Freedom Fighters #2, and The Death of the New Gods #1. I've only read the first five and last two. This will cover the first five, let's begin...

I'm serious. After weeks of dissapointment and barely readable dribble Countdown 27 has settled it, I'm dropping Countdown. It started out poor and has just dwindled since never living up the the potential of being a follow up to 52. It was so unreadable that I just skimmed it and didn't even notice Donna Troy's, supposed, death. How sad is that? So yeah, I really have nothing more to say about this. *washes hands clean of it*

Having a thing for redheads and green/black outfits I spied the cover of Velocity: Pilot Season and was sold. Just look at it.
The story itself was pretty decent as well, but I can't say for sure whether I'd vote for it, having not read the other Pilot Seasons.

It starts off with her running to a hostpial to deliver a kidney. So we start right off knowing she's a speedster, as though the name/cover didn't tell you that. Then she gets a check up, which I have to wonder why she's getting a CAT scan for a sore shoulder & place a 'CAT scans don't look like that!' stamp on the whole thing. Not even X-Ray scans work that way. Ahem... Anywho we go on with one of the doctors asking her out, enjoyed the little 'worse case scenerio panel, followed by her accepting.

Next we get a glimpse of the villain and his plans then a jump to her and the doctor at a club. (If this does get chosen from the Pilot Seasons I demand a story as to why her skin is like that, it's cool but needs background.) They're having fun, blah, blah, blah, dancing, dancing, dancing, Boom, bad guy steps in and in less than one panel she's not longer in the club clothes but back in her costume ready to fight. Seriously, one panel she's in club dress, next she's pummeling the guy in costume. Hella fast or poor planning? *shrug*

So she's fighting and finds the guy too strong so she starts to run around him sucking him into a vacuum, which is working until the villain we'd seen earlier does something. Next thing you know she's off running and can't stop. Damn I love this art. The tears in her eyes when she realises she can't stop running is... wow, just wow. She goes so fast she runs through a miltary base, under the command of the villain causing the whole place to become destroyed. Realising that it's more than just being unable to stop but actually unable to control where she's going she sets out to stop it, by running so fast the radio waves controlling her can't keep up. That's fucking cool. She runs so fast she creates a global sonic boom and can actually see the radio waves formerly controlling her which she then uses to destroy the villain's lab/lair place. Once that's over she goes to see the doctor she dated in the hospital, he'd gotten hurt in the club incident. The end. So as I said all in all it's a decent story, fantasmic art, though not sure if it's the right kind of material to be the Pilot Season winner. *makes note to pick up the other Pilot Seasons for comparision*

Now I'm not fully ready to judge Gotham Underground yet this being the first one but so long as it gets better, which I'm fairly certain of, it'll be great. Really I don't want to spoil too much with this one so I'll leave it on a note of 'pick this up!' if your at all a Bats/Gotham City fan. *tries to control urge to spurt out spoilers* FINE! Just one... Matches Malone. ;p and a page...

The Walking Dead #43 was both a flashback and further proof of how damn fucked up the Governor is. There's no way to even talk about that fucker without cursing. This is basically a flashback showing how he survived after well... http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/3515488.html#cutid1 . In fact it starts from the very last page when his lackys come in to find him. Fuck... So basically it goes through him healing, finding Martinez dead, and all but declaring war on our 'heros'. Yet before he leaves he feels the need to up his creepy sadistic asshole rating by removing his zombie daughter's teeth so she won't be able to bite anymore then open mouth kissing her. Course he soon realises that kissing zombies sucks and throws up but still, blah... Vile.

So they find the scouts dead at the Wal*Mart and from there find the prision, this is all happening right about the time they capture the zombie and bring it into the prision. Having found the enemy the Governor has them pack up and, leaving his zombie daughter in Bob's care, sets out on his mission of 'vengence'. Blah. As much as I'm just waiting for one of the Grimes family to die, morid I know, I really want the Governor dead more. I hate that fucking newly dickless fucker. Blah...

As I stated with my last Action Comics I'm positively in love with this whole Escape from Bizarro World storyline and with it's conclusion I'm both saddened and amused. It was great. No, scratch that, it was fantasmic. Every bit of it had my loving the Bizarro world and it's weird way of being. So... that said how's about I just re-post my scans_daily post on this and call it a night(I have a report to finish for class in the morning!). ^.^
[begin s_d post]
First of all as though Bizarro Luthor wasn't enough the Bizarro JLA is fantasmic.

It's like bad cosplay on crack, seriously.

I was wondering if Yellow Lantern was going to be considered part of Sinestro Corps, guess that settles that.

Then we have the Bizarro version of Arkham complete with it's own Bizarro Joker. *joy*

Awww... He's so sad.

Moving along...

I posted this page just for the last panel really. I <3 the Bizarros.

Then an ending on a scary thought...

No, it's not the kids that scare me... it's the mind fuck images of Bizarro sex. *shudder*

Edit: Forgot to include one of my fav. meme thingies...

[/end s_d post]

I'll post more after class tommorrow as I'll have more time and less worry. Oh and FYI the report/presentation I'm giving my class in the morning is about 'Women in Comics', it's a women's studies class. Here's hoping I don't geek out enough to loose my audience.
